Intuitive Discount

In a recent class on self healing, I told my students that I was offering private lessons for $10 during the month of April. My intuition had been prompting me to give a huge discount for a week or so prior to the class. And I always follow my intuition…even if it seems crazy.

Maybe you’re thinking – “$10!!!! That’s barely above minimum wage!!” After all – why would I accept only $10 when I usually earn either $80 or $90 for the same amount of time. The answer – intuition.

Naturally the response was very positive which made me very happy. Then my mind wandered off arm in arm with my intuition, and they got to talking. By the time they came back, they had agreed to offer this reduced price for a longer time than I originally planned with a number of time slots set aside for a range of prices $90, $50, $30 and $10 with a waiting list as each one fills up.

Here are some responses I got from friends and family on this.

Why would you do that!?!
What if people can afford more but only pay you the $10.
I recently raised my rates!

But when something feels right to me, I ignore everyone and do it anyway.

So why would my intuition lead me in this ‘crazy’ direction?

hmmm…I find myself thinking about someone that I’ll be able to help in a few months…that wouldn’t be able to get this kind of help otherwise…or maybe they’d never hear about it if one of their friends didn’t grab the $10 rate and then tell them about it…

Who knows. But when I feel these kinds of thoughts about something or someone headed by way, it’s always happens. And has brought me to some wonderful surprises and a great deal of contentment in my heart.

Besides – it won’t be forever – just until I find that person.

  1. Teresa I use my intuition a lot also – it seems like when you can give to someone like you did, it will come around to you with huge rewards so kudos to you for doing that! I enjoyed hearing what you do and would love to know more about it. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hey Teresa,

Intuition is such a wonderful thing to be able to tap into.
It’s incredible though, how often we refer to it in hindsight…. “If only I’d followed my intuition”.

Even having been taught from an early age that your first thought is usually the right one, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ignored my own intuition! Reflecting back, I can even remember changing exam questions 3-4 times, only to end up with the wrong answer when intuitively, I had it right the first time.

Now when I’m stuck I make a conscious effort to sit and quietly ask myself “What is my intuition trying to tell me?”.

Well done on ignoring everyone and going ahead with what felt right anyway. I can’t wait to hear how it all turns out. My ‘intuition’ tells me that your $10 lessons are leading to a much higher purpose :)

  6. Intuition is the key! It never steers you in the wrong direction. As a psychic, twice a year I give a 2 for 1 rate or a 50% off rate. I do this out of appreciation to my loyal clients who have been with me for years. I also do free readings for those in the service or other situations.
My rates have been the same amount for over 15 years. People often ask me why don’t I raise my rates. It’s because I enjoy the clients I attract. It doesn’t drain me and a connection is made.
I have some clients for 20 years. Always have my new ones and give my newbies overtime because it takes some time to build that relationship. When they ask me why I’m not charging more, I simply say to them “because you are new and we took a little longer time to connect.” So follow that intuition….it will take you to places that you want to be.
    Sincerely, Donna

  8. Hey Teresa,

Here is my longer comment lol….

I know from reading your other posts you are very passionate about intuitive thinking and you have seen great benefit from living your life in this way.

There have been times when I have gone with my gut feeling and things have worked out just fine but I believe I really need to be more conscious about my intuitive thoughts, because I think I am naturally intuitive and my intuition is telling me that great things will come from following my natural instinct.

Thanks for the reminder of what I need to be doing with my mind.

  9. Hi Teresa,

I really enjoyed this post — I will refrain from getting spiritual on this thread, but let me just say that listening to your intuition, conscious, etc. is powerful and I concur with you 100%.

So many people don’t listen when it’s there intuition is telling them something positive to do, like help people that can’t afford it normally :o )

But when it’s something out of anger, greed, revenge, etc. People are quick to listen to there emotional intuition (if that’s even a term).

Well I could go on and on, but since I have been reading your posts (especially about your Dad — Go Giver (I hope that was the right title)!!) — I can tell that you come from good values and principals.

I am glad that our paths crossed.

I really loved this post because if we are more conscious of our thoughts and our inner self it will always guide us to do the right thing and you are right you never know who you may actually be helping. BRAVO!!!!!

Thanks, Evin! I like to think of it as a chain reaction. I help someone, then they help someone, then they help someone else… If it keeps going, think of how many wonderful things will happen in the world!
